I joined Appraisd as its second engineer and helped grow the team. My work covered hiring, mentoring, architecture and delivery.

I reworked legacy systems and infrastructure to support the product’s growth from 50,000 to 250,000 users. Reviewing cloud usage and refactoring code for performance reduced cloud costs by 45%.

New-code bugs fell by 40% between January and April 2023 after we introduced static analysis and automation.

I also introduced a delivery framework the engineers could run themselves, and secured budget for additional developers and QA support.

I pitched, developed and launched Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations.
